Co-Teaching: Theory to Practice

This training is designed to review and discuss the barriers of effective co-teaching. Participants will develop solutions to the obstacles that hinder student engagement and academic growth. Educators will participate in role-playing and discussion panel with a focus on co-planning and collaboration. The contributors will conclude the session by creating a manual for effective co-teaching that can be shared with colleagues.

Jada Warfield is a fifth-year Special Education teacher with the School District of Philadelphia. Jada left a career as a staff attorney with the National Center for the Prosecution of Child Abuse to pursue a career as an educator. She has a dual B.A in Psychology and Political Science from Temple University, a law degree from Howard University School of Law, and a Masters Degree in Education from Holy Family University.

Mike Brennan is the Director of Special Education at University City High School
